Hot Saturday in the River City

Bitter temperatures have arrived for the weekend, but festivities in Downtown Waynesboro Saturday will be hot.

The Spring Fashion Debut, presented by Augusta Free Press, will deliver warmth throughout the day, with more than 25 vendors presenting their Spring and Summer lines.

“What better time to think of toe rings and summer clothes than now?” said event organizer Crystal Graham, who will be on hand selling Cookie Lee Jewelry.

The Spring Fashion Debut will be centered around the WTA’s Gateway in Downtown Waynesboro. More than 15 vendors will be set up there for you to get information, enjoy samples and shop for yourself or Valentine’s Day.

Also, the event has extended to two additional locations: Initial Inspiration and the Shenandoah Valley Art Center. Both locations will host additional vendors for the day.

“You also have an opportunity to win a Kindle Fire just for attending,” said Graham.

The Kindle Fire drawing will be at The Gateway and is courtesy of Realtor Kathleen Kellett from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III.

In addition to the Spring Fashion Debut, Downtown Waynesboro is hosting a Love is in the Air promotion complete with a Merchant Chocolate Walk and the LOVE artwork installation.

The Spring Fashion Debut will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fashion Debut finalizes vendors

It may be a Spring Fashion Debut, but you’ll get a little taste of everything next Saturday in downtown Waynesboro.

The entire event will bring 22 businesses to downtown for shopping, samples, giveaways and more.

“I am really excited to bring such a wide variety of wares to downtown for this exclusive one-day shopping event,” said Crystal Graham of Augusta Free Press, which is presenting the 2012 Spring Fashion Debut on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Downtown Waynesboro.

The 2012 Spring Fashion Debut will preview new spring lines from companies including Dove Chocolate, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Kelly’s Kids, Vault Denim, Perfectly Posh, DoTerra, Willow House and more.

“We’ve really expanded beyond fashion to include items for the home and kitchen, wind chimes and more.” said Graham. “It’s exciting that people can come downtown to shop for themselves or Valentine’s Day and get such an assortment of quality items throughout downtown.”

The Spring Fashion Debut will start at The Gateway with 15+ vendors in one location. While there, register to win a free KINDLE FIRE just for attending courtesy of Realtor Kathleen Kellett from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III. With any purchase from Fashion Debut Vendors, you’ll also have the opportunity to win up to $500 in fashion accessories. Initial Inspiration and Shenandoah Valley Art Center will also host vendors.

Also, downtown on Feb. 11, will be a Love is in the Air promotion featuring L-O-V-E artwork and a chocolate walk with participating downtown merchants.

Fashion Debut extends to two downtown businesses

It’s an event that is growing before it even starts.

The 2012 Spring Fashion Debut, presented by Augusta Free Press, has now grown beyond just the doors of The Gateway.

Two other businesses will host vendors and take part in the event. Initial Inspiration, at 412 W. Main St. will host two vendors, and the Shenandoah Valley Art Center, at 126 S. Wayne Ave., will host four vendors. They will join the 15-plus vendors scheduled to appear at The Gateway, 329 W. Main St., in downtown Waynesboro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 11.

“It’s very exciting to be a part of an event that has grown from one location to expand to downtown as a whole,” said event organizer Crystal Graham. “I’m thrilled that two other downtown merchants want to be a part of the Spring Fashion Debut.”

The Spring Fashion Debut will be part of a busy Saturday in Downtown Waynesboro which will also play host to a Love Is In The Air promotion including a Chocolate Walk being put on by downtown merchants. There will also be LOVE artwork installed at the corner of Main and Wayne for the community to enjoy.

“I hope that the community will come out and support these local vendors,” said Graham. “And I hope they will take time to enjoy the secondary locations of the Spring Fashion Debut and all of the businesses downtown.”

It may feel like the dead of winter, but it’s also time to begin thinking ahead to spring fashions.

“I think people are probably looking for a good excuse to think spring,” said Crystal Graham of Augusta Free Press, which is presenting the 2012 Spring Fashion Debut on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the WTA’s Gateway, 329 W. Main St., Downtown Waynesboro.

The iconic L-O-V-E- artwork – 16 feet long and more than six feet high – used by the Virginia Tourism Corp. to promote its Virginia Is For Lovers marketing campaign will be set up downtown for the event as well.

“We’re hoping people will come out for the Spring Fashion Debut, of course, but while they’re here we’d also hope that they take a minute to see what else Downtown Waynesboro has to offer. There’s a lot going on downtown these days, and we think our Fashion Debut and the Love Is In The Air promotion can serve to showcase what we have here,” Graham said.
